You can get viruses from different mediums — from removable disks, networked computers, or the Internet. Note: It is important that you read the instruction manual carefully. Make sure to note what operating systems are compatible with this program. It is also imperative that you do not attempt to act without supervision from someone who has been properly trained to handle this kind of computer problem. After downloading the software…

1. Close any open browsers.

2. Close or disable all antivirus, firewall, and anti-malware programs so they do not interfere with ComboFix. If you don’t know how to do it, click here. It is also recommended that you close CD emulators (ie. Astroburn, AnyDVD, Daemon Tools, Alchohol 120%, etc) and any program that could disrupt the operation.

3. Double click on ComboFix.exe and follow the prompts to remove multiple computer virus from your PC. ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. Allow ComboFix to complete all its process. Do not interrupt it while it is running.

Note: If you get this error message “Illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion” from opening a program after running ComboFix, just restart the computer to reset the registry.

After ComboFix has done its job. The next step to remove multiple computer virus is to download AdwCleaner into your Desktop. After that, close all open programs and internet browsers.

Run adwcleaner.exe by double-clicking it. When prompted, click on Delete then confirm each time with OK. Your computer will be rebooted automatically and a text file will open after the restart. AdwCleaner is an adware cleaner and this tool will ensure that aside from malware, your PC is also free of adwares. It is important to remove adwares as well since they can sometimes be sources of infection.

It is also worth noting that in OS like Windows XP and later versions of Windows, there is a System Restore program that was meant to fix your computer in case it gets messed up. What it does is that it creates backup restore points from which you can restore your system from. The problem with this program, however, is that when you get infected and you use it to create a restore point, it can also backup the virus along with the other regular apps. So when you restore from a previous state during which the PC was still infected later on, it could also restore the infection along with it. For this reason, it would be prudent to also delete the infected restore points.

The final step to remove multiple computer virus from your computer involves some little housekeeping. Let’s start by removing the AdwCleaner. To remove it, double click on adwcleaner.exe to run the tool, then click on Uninstall. Confirm with Yes. Make sure to uninstall ComboFix too. It is recommended that these programs are uninstalled every after use.

If you have successfully remove the infection, it is time to remove other possible sources. Third party programs, for example, if not up to date, has the tendency to be infiltrated by malicious programs. Therefore, it would be best to update them.
